Section 12 of the First Home Owner Grant Act 2000(the Act) provides that at least one of the applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of application.

The Act also provides that an applicant has up to 1 year from completion of the eligible transaction to lodge an application for the grant. Essentially, it is possible to become a permanent resident after settlement and registration of the title of the home has taken place and qualify forthe grant, provided all the eligibility criteria are met and an applicationis lodged within the 1 year application period.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to satisfy themselves that theymeet all eligibility criteria prior to proceeding with the purchase orconstruction of their home.

他的意思是不是说，只要我在买了房子settle之后一年之内拿到pr并申请首次置业补助，就没有问题？

首次置业补助的申请条件是：您的房子settle时您必须是居民或者PR身份
settle之后才拿到PR身份是无效的

这段话是不是说可以settle之后拿到pr，并且满足其它条件，就可以拿到补助？（必须在一年之内）

that is right, you don't have to be  a PR, to get the grant when settlement, but, you must become a PR in 1 year, and apply grant  within 1 year , you must get everything done in 1 year,

这么说买房子的时候不是pr也可以在一年内申请？只要在这1年之内房子settle了，拿到pr了，就会有钱拿？请问大侠们，在nsw也适用吗？有这个机会，总好过没有啊。

如果你签合同不是PR的话，那你stamp duty就没得免了，这个后补PR没用的，损失也挺大的。。。

在NSW，要拿好PR在买房才能享受，就是说PR是先决条件。
